Gender Alternatives Foundation and Zonta - Club Plovdiv, with the Plovdiv University "Paisii Hilendarski" support, organize a Discussion "Let us openly talk about violence against women and girls".

   Participants include representatives of the Court, Prosecutor's office, Police, Social service, lawyers, psychologists. NGOs, students and citizens.

       On 11-12.11.2013, Milena Kadieva took part in an International conference "How women's movement influenced State policies", organized by the Autonomous Women's Centre in Belgrade, Republic of Serbia.

       Ms. Rashida Manjoo, the UN Special Rapporteur on Violence against Women, took part in the conference. Mr. Jose Mendes Bota, the General Rapporteur on Violence against Women of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, was also present. Ms. Rosa Logar, one of the founders of the first Austrian women's shelter, participated as well. All the countries from the former Yugoslavia were represented by women's NGOs.

       On 01.11.2013 a seminar - good practice exchange on the implementation of the Protection against Domestic Violence Act (PADV) took place in Petrich. Judges from the Regional courts in Petrich, Blagoevgrad, Sandanski and Razlog took part in the initiative. Also, representatives of the Regional prosecutor’s office in Plovdiv, Pertich and Sandanski as well as the Police services in Plovdiv and Petrich participated in the event. All of them presented statistical data on the implementation of the PDVA, analysis of the main problems in this regard and information about the coordination with relevant institutions and organizations.
