We are going to try to tell the story of one of those victims having her name and her own destiny – a fate that has focalized many life stories of individuals who could recognize either themselves or their acquaintances therein.

On 03.06.2016, in the city of Paris, France, a Conference was organized under the project THB: from exit to insertion, barriers and leverage/HOME/2013/ISEC/AG/THB/4000005340, co-funded by the Prevention of and Fight against Crime Programme of the European Union/, namely a Conference “Human trafficking for sexual exploitation. The words of the victims for a better access to their rights”.

Participants of the Conference were more than 250 representatives of the following institutions and organizations: judges, prosecutors, police officers, social workers, psychologists, lawyers, NGOs working in the area of human rights protection.

The Gender Alternatives Foundation is privileged to be part of the CSO WINS project focused on women’s rights protection in the Southern Mediterranean region.

After the advocacy training held in Barcelona from the 4th to the 9th April 2016, 24 association of the Southern Mediterranean have had the chance to draft an action plan proposal to improve the condition of women in their local and/or national context. The evaluation of proposals was accomplished in Algeria on May 31st 2016 and 8 associations were selected to deploy their campaign in the next following months. On this basis, they will receive technical support from the CSO WINS project and accompaniment of one of the 12 associations with high expertise in advocacy, which developed the successful practices. In total, 8 partnerships will be created in order to strengthen the mutual learning and the exchange of experiences.
