Presented and History
DA Foundation is a non-profit legal entity for public benefit, with the following purposes:
Supporting the establishment of a balanced civil society in the country by realizing equal opportunities and equal representation of men and women and the different ethnicities in the public and private sectors;
Promote the active participation of young people in public life by protecting and promoting their rights;
Conducting research in all areas of public and private life on issues related to social sex (gender studies);
Supporting people in a difficult social and economic situation, persons affected by violence and discrimination and those who need support in order to overcome the risk of social isolation;
Advocacy for the promotion of universal and European human rights standards and the generally recognized values of democracy and humanism.
Development, organization and implementation of gender projects, including with regard to vulnerable groups of persons;
Development, organization and implementation of projects for the protection of civil, political, social, economic and cultural human rights, in particular, women;
Individual protection of human rights (legal, psychological and social), cooperation in building and assistance in building human rights networks, and their integration into international and European structures;
Monitoring the observance of human rights and standards of equality and compliance with international and European standards and preparation of comparative and reference materials;
Development of proposals for changing the Bulgarian legislation concerning human rights, non-discrimination and equality between men and women and the progress of women in all areas of public life; Advocacy and lobbying before state institutions;
Development and publication of practical guides, manuals, scientific publications, articles and developments on gender issues and on human rights and other materials; Legal, sociological, economic, political and other studies, developments and publications;
Organization, financing and holding of scientific and practical conferences, meetings, round tables and seminars with the participation of public organizations, practitioners and representatives of central and local state bodies, as well as educational institutions and institutions, consultation of state bodies, non-governmental and economic organizations, foreign institutions and educational institutions and institutions on gender issues and other human rights issues;
Development or support of the development of programs for gender training and training on human rights of workers, entrepreneurs of business owners, representatives of public administration, practicing lawyers, students in all degrees of educational institutions and of activists of non-governmental human rights organizations;
Establishment of youth and children's education, training and incentive programmes and projects in order to train human rights and effective protection of fundamental human rights, as well as fundamental freedoms;
Development, organization and implementation of projects for the protection of the rights of young people and children;
